Ontario Calendula
The 'calendula' is an annual whose name refers to its tendency to bloom with the calendar, usually once a month or with every new moon. As recently as 70 years ago, American physicians started using calendula for its medical benefits. We pick our calendula in Niagara, Ontario. It is very easy to grow, and you can find it across Canada and the US.
Healing: It promotes fast healing and regeneration of skin cells with its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Applying calendula topically can help minimize inflammation and promote fast healing of wounds, burns, eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions.
Sensitive Skin: It is commonly used to treat sensitive skin since it's extremely gentle and calming. It soothes sunburns, rashes and other mild skin irritations.
Anti-Aging: It contains anti-aging and invigorating qualities that impart a youthful glow to the skin. It's safe to use near the eye area as a preventative measure against 'crow's feet'.
