A look at our beeswax in the making

We love our suppliers, especially when we can get an inside look at all of the hard work they put into their incredible creations. One of the amazing creations we get to work with is beeswax, which we get from an organic apiary situated in Northern Alberta. The antibacterial, antiseptic and skin healing properties of honey have made it an important part of our skin care routine.

Not only do we love bees for their wax and it's amazing health properties, but also for the irreplaceable role that bees play in our environment and food system. Bees are easily amongst the most important insects to humans on Earth as they pollinate 1/3 of all vegetables and fruits that we consume daily.

We are so happy to work with beekeepers who follow organic standards as pesticides and other chemicals are highly damaging to bee populations. One of the best ways to keep bee populations healthy is to create homes and habitat for the insects by growing a garden, even a small one on your balcony, which you can fill it with plants and flowers that attract bees and other pollinators. Almost any garden will attract them, but choosing a variety of plants that bloom throughout the season will keep bees buzzing from spring through fall.
