Hydrating Avocado Hair Mask
Avocado contains vitamin B and E to repair hair and restore missing proteins that are found in healthy follicles. Bananas are high in potassium which directly relate to the hydration levels in your skin + hair. Most milks aid in improving hair pigmentation (keeping colour longer!) and provide ample proteins, needed for strengthening strands. Maple syrup has humectant properties that make it amazing at retaining moisture within the hair. And finally, oils are some of the best known moisturizers! This recipe will supply ample hydration, nourishment, and strengthening properties to your hair.
You will need:
1/2 a small ripe avocado
1/2 a ripe banana
3 tbsp almond or coconut milk
2 tbsp maple syrup
3 tbsp olive or almond oil
Directions:
1. Mash all ingredients until smooth and well incorporated OR blend in a small food processor until smooth (preferred method).
2. Apply evenly to the hair (comb through if necessary) and leave on for minimum 15 minutes before rinsing clean with an all natural shampoo. (If you use shampoo that's full of chemicals and toxins, you will undo all the great work of the mask! Be sure to use an organic shampoo with no harmful ingredients.)
